A definite goal

100 x 100 = 10,000
My goodness!

It's been almost 5 years since I last posted! High time, therefore to bring the story up to date, especially given the fact that I have introduced a major plot twist to my ultra-distance journey.

Okay then, what has gone on since last we met?

To begin, I took part in two further Sri Chinmoy 24-hour events in 2009 and then in 2010. I shan't go into the details except to report that I did not better my original effort. I had to pull out in 2009 after 50 kilometres because of atrocious weather conditions. And in 2010 I was going well at 100 kilometres (a personal best for that distance) at 7-kilmetre-per-hour pace, but thereafter was hampered by iliotibial trouble.

I may expand upon the aforementioned later, but for now wish to write about my latest plan of action.

I live now in the ideal situation under which to attempt a grander version of my best long-term vision. Specifically, I would like to try to complete 100 kilometres over 100 successive days. I believe that this can be done, and that I can do it. And to cap it all off, on the final day I shall continue on for a full 24 hours to set a world's best for barefooting of that duration.

Details and explanations to follow.
